A moody looking vulture waits patiently on a bare branch for some food. The tree and bird are of equal importance in the painting, shown by the equal distribution of the detail from bird to branch. These painting techniques suggest that the animal is so still it is becoming part of the static tree. The frozen appearance of the burd could also indicate they have been waiting for an endless time without any luck.

The vulture reminds the reviewer to take a moment to be patient for what is to come. Just maybe not with quite such a low-spirited face as this vulture hold (but then again, perhaps we would all be looking a little sad if we had been waiting a long time for our dinner too).

The painting would be an excellent choice for an office or library room where you can take a moment to reflect.
