The African wild dog is one of the most efficient pack hunters in nature through their ability to work as a team to catch their prey and feed even the weakest in their group. Usually, these dogs are pictured in packs of 10 to 40 dogs. However, due to poaching, these dogs are struggling to survive at the hands of humans, and they are often caught for meat or to control the spread of diseases that could infect other local animals.
As the African wild dog is now becoming increasingly endangered, we felt it was important to picture the African wild dog running through the grass to symbolise that time is running out for this animal. However, there is still a sense of hope and freedom as the dog enjoys its time roaming on the Savannah.
